Ciel, a Xi'an-born, Toronto-based music producer, DJ, pianist, and radio presenter, is a prominent figure in the electronic music scene. She is the co-owner of the Toronto label Parallel Minds and a member of the Discwoman collective. Since 2018, she has hosted a monthly residency on Rinse FM in London. Ciel's debut EP came out in 2017 on Peach Discs, with several releases following on labels like Coastal Haze, Spectral Sound, !K7 Records, and more. Her 2023 album, Homesick, was self-released on Parallel Minds and received critical acclaim. Ciel is known for her collaborative spirit, having worked with artists like D. Tiffany, Dan Only, Priori, and more. In 2024, she will return to MUTEK Montreal with a new live show and release multiple EPs. Her work is rooted in community, diversity, and inclusivity, aiming to leave the scene better than she found it.
